14 Dog Novice Retriever Trial - Thimbleby 11th January 2023

It was extremely windy and whilst the first few eaten down meadows on the edge of moorland looked like there would be little game that was not the case. Within minutes game was being shot to the right, left and middle and we went from 0 to 60 in seconds.

Dogs were putting themselves out and by the time we were on the moor there were 5 dogs left. A variety of game was shot, pheasant, partridge, rabbit, hare and woodcock. Five became four, then 3 and we finished the day with the following result.

🏆 Winner (1st) - Jason Mayhew with Wauniago Fabinho.

2nd & Gun’s Choice - Paul Stogden with Routengill Daisy.

3rd - Paul Dukes with Chadsmynndd Kentxtwen Misty Mirror.

14 Dog All Aged retriever trial - West Arkengarthdale September 2022

It was a great start to the YRFTS season with a fabulous 14 dog All Aged trial at West Arkengarthdale on the 5th September 2022. Having been cancelled for a number of years, due to low grouse numbers, it was good to be back and the grouse didn’t disappoint.  Blue skies over head, guns shooting well, plenty of grouse, some rabbits and a great atmosphere made for an enjoyable day for all.

The happiest was the winner  🏆Sam Morley-Riches with Stauntonvale Margay of Rushbrigg.

Sam was also awarded Gun’s Choice and Best Retrieve on the day.

🥈2nd place - Becki Thistle with Cardueae Yealands.

No other awards.
